Enzo Maresca has warned Sampdoria fans their main goal this season is Serie A survival.

The newly promoted outfit would be joint top without their one-point deduction, but the new signing is keeping his feet on the ground.

"The truth is that this team has done some great work," Maresca said after the wins over A Milan and then Siena.

"But we shouldn't elude the supporters. The objective for this season is to comfortably survive - once we've done that then we'll see what else is on offer."
