The agents of Robert Lewandowski are engineering speculation that the Polish striker may leave Bayern Munich, according to expert journalist Gab Marcotti.

Lewandowski's representatives recently claimed that their client was upset with the club, which has piqued the interest of Manchester United and Chelsea.

"I think we've been here before with Lewandowski and Lewandowski's people," Marcotti told ESPN FC.

"You'll remember a couple of years ago there was the same issue, but with Real Madrid at the time.

"This is how intermediaries make their money, they know Manchester United are looking for a centre-forward and can afford one. They know Chelsea are looking for a centre-forward and can afford one.

"They try to put together a deal and certainly if you are Lewandowski's agent, you don't mind if people go out and do that."
