Marcos Llorente defends Real Madrid attitude for Espanyol defeat

Real Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente defended their attitude in defeat to Espanyol.

A late Gerard Moreno strike gifted the hosts a win over Llorente's side, but the midfielder insists Los Blancos were not lacking desire.

"We didn't lack motivation, we don't think about the point distance," he explained after the match.

"We go game by game, so it doesn't affect us.

"We lacked firepower and efficiency, not motivation."

Analysing the defeat, he said that it was his team's desire to win which ended up costing them.

"The second half was different, they were tighter," he commented.

"We went for the three points with all we had.

"In a defensive mess they scored."
