Hull City manager Marco Silva was not too perturbed after seeing his side beaten 2-0 by Manchester United tonight.
The Tigers made United work hard for their victory in the EFL Cup semi-final first leg at Old Trafford, which came courtesy of second-half goals from Juan Mata and Marouane Fellaini.
After the match, Silva in just his second game in charge, felt it was a fairly solid effort from a team who are suffering from injuries and who have had less than a handful of training sessions with their new boss.
"First of all, it was a tough game for us," he told Sky Sports.
"Man United deserved this victory, this result. It's a pity we suffered the second goal in the last minutes as we tried to keep it open for the second game.
"I'm happy with the work, not happy with result, but happy with the work, all the problems we have in this moment, my boys worked well.
"It's not easy when our team came here with Man United in a very good moment. 3 or 4 sessions training with me, all the problems we had, and many many things to change, I'm happy with the work..
"The score is not good for us, sure, but happy with the work."
Regarding the second leg at the KCOM Stadium in a fortnight, Silva added: "We will see we try.
"It's our obligation to try and do better. Our dream is to play this final (at Wembley) but we will see. It's difficult, but when it is time to play we will compete."
