Arsenal are keeping tabs on Marco Asensio's situation at Real Madrid.

Diario Gol says Asensio has requested a meeting with Real Madrid to discuss a new contract.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has offered him the chance to move to the Emirates, but the youngster has no interest in jumping ship.

However, he does believe he is due an improved contract.

It is said he is requesting an annual salary worth £5.5million a year in order for the club to ensure he stays and will convey his feelings in a meeting with manager Zinedine Zidane.

Asensio is also aware that the European elite would all love to sign him.
