Juventus hope to tempt Manchester United into parting with Nani by offering Claudio Marchisio in part-exchange. Mediaset says Juve chiefs were encouraged in their pursuit of Nani after meeting with United manager Sir Alex Ferguson last week.
Ferguson made it clear it would take a huge offer to convince him to part with the Portugal international - but tellingly did not rule out selling the club's Player of the Year.
Juve know Ferguson admires Marchisio, who despite penning a new contract last month remains unsettled in Turin: "This is a difficult time for me."
Italy international Marchisio would offer the guile and energy Ferguson is seeking to reinvigorate his midfield - and with Ashley Young set to arrive from Aston Villa - Nani could become surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.
