Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio says they cannot afford to miss out on Champions League qualification this season.

Having lost against Palermo and Napoli this season, Juventus cannot afford to finish level on points with them as their superior head-to-head records would see the Bianconeri's rivals better placed in Serie A.

"After the defeats to Palermo and Napoli, a shot in the arm was necessary," Marchisio explained.

"We cannot make any more mistakes. We must get as many points as possible in order to finish fourth and alone as well because if we were to be level with Palermo and Napoli against whom we lost the head-to-head encounters, the final Champions League place would be theirs.

"We can train better without any more midweek rounds. Until today we have only worked on the tactical aspect with Zaccheroni."
