Former Lazio goalkeeper Luca Marchegiani has urged Inter Milan be strategic in this month's transfer market.

Marchegiani says Inter need to forget about a winger signing.

He explained to Sky Italia: "You need a midfielder, more than a winger.

"At Inter you do not need a substitute for Ivan Perisic or Antonio Candreva, who still know how to create, instead you need a midfielder.

"It's a team with little depth and nobody can serve Mauro Icardi up close, both Javier Pastore (PSG) and Henrikh Mkhitaryan (Manchester United) would be fine."
