Marcelo, who was not called up by Brazil for this summer's World Cup, is currently in Madrid and due to fly home for an extended break in Rio de Janeiro.
When he returns, the former Fluminense player will work under Mourinho for the first time and is excited at the prospect of linking up with the Portuguese.
"I'm looking forward to working with Mourinho. He's a born winner and I'm happy about his arrival. I'm really excited to work with him," he said.
The Brazilian has heard great things about the new Madrid coach from other players.
"All of the footballers he has coached say he is very good and that's for a reason," the 22-year-old added of Mourinho, who last season guided Inter Milan to Serie A, Coppa Italia and Champions League glory.
"Let's hope it's a year of successes for Real Madrid."
