Marc Albrighton hopes for Aston Villa Premiership chance

Marc Albrighton hopes for a Premiership chance this season at Aston Villa.

The young winger is regarded highly at Villa Park.

"With the appearances and even training for a full year with the first team it gives you more confidence and determination to do well," Albrighton told the Birmingham Mail.

"It has paid off a lot and I think I have become a stronger player in the last year.

"Am I ready for the Premier League? I'd like to think so. I've got to be confident about it. If the gaffer wants to use me in the Premier League I can't go in thinking that everyone is so much better than me. I've got to go in there thinking I'm on the same playing field as them.

"I don't think age should matter because if you're good enough you should be thrown in there and be able to perform.

"Definitely I'd prefer more appearances but whether that will come or not I'm unsure. That's down to the gaffer. I'll just get on with my job and hopefully it will be good enough and I'll get more football.

"As a footballer all you want to do is play. I just want to do it every week, whether it's for the first team in the Premier League or, if not that, playing for the reserves to get games under my belt and keep fit."
