Diego Maradona has urged Juan Roman Riquelme to leave Villarreal in January.

Maradona, who was influential in Boca Juniors signing Riquelme on-loan last season, said: "A player like him cannot be frozen out the way he has been.

"We all hope Roman, that you can find a positive solution as soon as possible."
