Diego Maradona admits he's a big fan of Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah.

Indeed, the Argentine great is backing Salah to be named African Player of the Year.

Salah has bagged 12 goals in 17 appearances already for Liverpool this season - and joins teammate Sadio Mane in the running for 2017's African Player of the Year award along with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Victor Moses and Naby Keita.

“I would like to support Salah who has greatly succeeded with Roma and Liverpool ," Maradona told Sada El-Balad.

“He's a wonderful player who surely deserves the award."

The African Player of the Year will be named on December 11.
