Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala has backed Raheem Sterling to continue his development as a player.
City claimed a 4-2 victory over Borussia Monchengladbach to earn top spot in their Champions League group and the hero on Tuesday night was winger Sterling, who grabbed a wonderful brace in the last 10 minutes of the match, after a clever backheel to provide David Silva with the opener.
Teammate Mangala was very happy for Sterling following the game and the defender has backed the now 21-year-old to keep on evolving into a top quality player.
Mangala said: "I am happy for Raheem because it was his birthday, he scored two goals and worked very well.
"He is a young player who has scored some important goals for us, but he also wants to learn – and he will improve."
