Former Liverpool star Neil Mellor believes that Sadio Mane's pace will make the Senegalese an invaluable asset for Jurgen Klopp next season.
The 24-year-old become the second-most expensive signing in the club's history after completing his £34million move from Southampton on Tuesday and Mellor is excited following the arrival.
Mellor told club's official website: "I don't think he's an out-and-out centre-forward but he can play centrally, on the left, on the right of a three behind the striker.
"One of his biggest strengths is pace, but I think the biggest thing about his pace is that acceleration that he has.
"Some players are quick but he has that real acceleration to get away from players and buy himself a little bit more space in the final third.
"On the counter-attack next season he will be a big player for Liverpool with that pace he possesses."
