Mandron shakes off knee injury at Sunderland

Mikael Mandron is delighted to be back for Sunderland.

He has made five appearances for the under-21 side this season, scoring four goals, but was downed by a knee ligament problem which required an operation.

"Hopefully I'll be training by the end of the week and available soon," Mandron told safc.com.

"It hasn't been too long - seven weeks isn't bad for a knee injury when you think that people have been out for much longer than that.

"Hopefully I'll be back soon and able to help the team."
