Marseille new-signing Steve Mandanda has admitted that he had a frustrating time at Crystal Palace last season.

The 32-year-old left Marseille for Palace on a free transfer last summer, but he could manage just ten appearances in all competitions last season.

Following a one-year stint in London, he has now re-joined Marseille on a three-year deal.

"Looking back, it's a rewarding season," he said of his time in England in a press conference.

"It was frustrating. I hurt myself when it never happened to me. We learn in every situation, I had never been dismissed from a group, it takes character not to crack and do anything.

"Either we give up, or we work to be ready on the day. I chose the second solution."
