Mancini at war with Man City chiefs over Eto'o pursuit

Roberto Mancini is battling Manchester City chiefs to fund a deal for Inter Milan striker Samuel Eto'o.

The People says Mancini is waging another internal battle to make sure strike star Eto'o is part of any deal with Inter Milan for Carlos Tevez.

Argentinian star Tevez could be on the move this week with Italian sources claiming Inter are hardening their interest in the £50million-rated Manchester City striker.

Mancini wants to grab Cameroon striker Eto'o as part of any deal but City management duo Garry Cook and Brian Marwood are not convinced.

Eto'o, 30, would cost at least £15m plus wages of at least 180,000 a week - and that, plus the player's age, is a concern for chief executive Cook and football director Marwood.

Mancini argues that Eto'o and new £38m signing Sergio Aguero would be a devastating partnership in the Premier league, with the Inter Milan star bagging 37 goals in Italy last season.
