Mancini wants more out of Man City recruit Dzeko

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini wants much more from £27million man Edin Dzeko.

The Bosnian striker looked out of sorts as City drew 0-0 with Aris Salonika in Greece in the Round of 32 of the Europa League and Mancini said he has to improve.

But he did have a few excuses for the former Wolfsburg man who is still settling in England and was not given much supply from the likes of Shaun Wright-Phillips.

"I expect more [from Dzeko]," said Mancini. "He needs to improve. He's a good player. We had a great chance with him and he should have scored.

"But he has the same problem as Fernando Torres at Chelsea, because when you arrive in January it isn't easy to get to know your team-mates and the system the team plays.

"Dzeko needs to play and it's important that he improves quickly. With Dzeko playing, Shaun should be crossing the ball more.

"But we only had one cross in the second-half and that was from Gareth Barry."
