Roberto Mancini has urged his Manchester City players to not worry too much about the Premier League table.
The reigning English champions sit 12 points behind league leaders Manchester United following today's 2-0 home win over Chelsea but the Italian feels it may be wiser to simply concentrate game by game rather than look too far ahead as they seek to defend their title.
"I think for us now it is not important to look at the table," he said.
"Only to continue to work like today, to play well, to improve and to look at the table in one month, 40 days.
"In football, it is finished when it is finished, the last minute of the last game.
"If we arrive at four games to go with United 12 points ahead, it is finished but I think our job is to continue to work."
City were served by second-half goals from Yaya Toure and Carlos Tevez - both supplied by David Silva - as they returned to the winners list after three games without maximum points.
