Mancini takes blame for poor Man City showing, indicates Tevez will miss FA Cup

Roberto Mancini have shouldered the blame for tonight's disappointing performance against Liverpool.

City gave up the chance to go third on the table, going down 3-0 on a wet night at Anfield, and the Italian said it was not the fault of the players.

"Tonight I made a mistake, it was my fault," he told Sky Sports 1.

"I think the players can do better, but I made a mistake. I know (what the mistake was). It is for me.

"I am sorry for the fans. We only started to play after 20 minutes."

The match also provided a blow for City just five days out from the FA Cup semi-final with Manchester United at Wembley with skipper Carlos Tevez going off inside 20 minutes with a hamstring injury which Mancini indicated was serious.

"His hamstring is very difficult for Saturday," he added.

"It is very difficult as it is only five days away. We'll try (to get him fit) but we probably need two weeks."
