Mancini snaps back at Inter Milan president Moratti

The Inter coach has snapped back at Massimo Moratti over the president's criticism of Sunday's defeat to AC Milan.

Mancini said: "It is absolutely not true and I do not agree. There is no way we can talk of a lack of courage, especially as we never played for a draw in the derby or any other game."

The row comes at a time when Mancini's future is in doubt, as even a third consecutive Scudetto might not be enough to keep him in the job with Jose Mourinho hovering.

"Everyone can see it their way, but I think when there is a defeat people always look for the scapegoat, which is usually the Coach," continued Mancio. "If Moratti saw it that way then he is free to do so, but I certainly do not agree. Anyway, it's not a problem."

There are other issues, as last week Moratti commented "it all depends on him" when asked if Mancini would remain next season.

"I have a contract with Inter for the next three years and that is all that needs to be said. What more should I add?

"I don't know what it means to say my future depends on me. You always ask me this question and last year that was understandable because I didn't have a long-term contract, but this time I do."
