Amantino Mancini has revealed his winner for Roma against Real Madrid came from a regular training ground routine.

"These are moves we practice in training and the Coach always asks us to pass deep, so it went very well," he said. "We were fortunate and are very happy to have won an important game. We go to Spain with the advantage, but there is nothing definite, so we hope to do well in the second leg."

Last season Roma also won the first leg of their quarter-final 2-1, but then went on to lose 7-1 away to Manchester United.

"We will not repeat the errors of Old Trafford! That can never happen again, as it was just inexplicable. We are more mature now and will have another great performance in Madrid."

It was Francesco Totti who teed up Mancini for the winner and the Brazilian added: "For two years we were a little iffy, as we are young lads and are quite proud, but even then we always gave our best on the field for Roma. Now we have sorted it all out."
