Robert Mancini's future at Manchester City will be influenced by tomorrow's derby at Manchester United. The Daily Star Sunday says Mancini, despite winning the title last season, has failed to convince the club's Spanish hierarchy of Ferran Soriano and Txiki Begiristain that he's the man to take the club forward.

City accept they won't retain their Premier League crown, but they won't tolerate being humiliated at United, who will be 18 points clear of their neighbours if they win the derby.

Mancini is already facing a situation where he needs to win the FA Cup and finish second in the league, to give himself a good chance of keeping his job.
