Mancini gives Man City's Tevez little chance of making FA Cup

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has indicated that captain Carlos Tevez is almost no chance of playing in next weekend's FA Cup. The Argentine striker is currently sidelined by a hamstring injury and is facing a race against time to be fit for the Cup final against Stoke City at Wembley Stadium on May 14.

Mancini said that Tevez will not take on Everton this weekend and if he is not right for this Tuesday's meeting with Tottenham then he will certainly not play against the Potters next Saturday.

"It is very difficult for him to play against Everton and if he doesn't play against Tottenham, it will be impossible for Carlos to play in the final," said Mancini.

"We have 10 days so we will wait and we hope that he can recover. I think it is 50 per cent at this moment."

In other City injury news, Mancini said that young defender Micah Richards, right-back Pablo Zabaleta and midfielder Nigel de Jong should all be fine by next week.

"Micah is very close," Mancini added.

"Pablo is OK, Nigel has a little problem with his hip but I think he will be available for Saturday."
