Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has a shopping list of stars as he seeks a creative midfielder for the summer market.
The Manchester Evening News says Inter Milan's United target Wesley Sneijder, Real Madrid ace Kaka and Arsenal kingpin Samir Nasri head the Blues' hit list.
But City are also interested in younger, up-and-coming stars, including Arsenal's Jack Wilshere, Valencia winger Juan Mata and Palermo's brilliant 21-year-old Argentine Javier Pastore.
Manager Roberto Mancini, who believes that every great team hinges on a 'trequartista', or attacking midfielder, has hinted at his summer plans.
Asked if his priority is to sign creative players, he said: "It is possible because if you have creative players in the squad it is better.
"When you are not playing well and you have a talented player like David he is able to change the game.
"It is not easy to find a good player like David but you want to try."
