Mancini disagreement gave back Man City hunger - Tevez

Carlos Tevez suggests his falling out with manager Roberto Mancini last season helped him rediscover his hunger for Manchester City.

The star striker refused to warm-up during an early Champions League match against Bayern Munich last year which ended in a six-month absence from English football and a massive row with his club boss.

But Tevez returned to action late in the campaign to help City win the English title and now he says he is completely committed to the cause following a solid start (three goals in three matches) to the new campaign.

"I am focused on my club and on the Premier League and the Champions League. This is what I wanted - to have this hunger for success back again," he said ahead of Argentina's World Cup qualifying double-header against Paraguay and Peru.

"The disagreement with Roberto has ended up being good for me because it has helped give me back this hunger. Before, I was playing just to attract the attention of the national team manager. Now I'm playing for the enjoyment and because I have that desire to win things.

"The national team is not my priority. I am concentrating on my club. I have had my first good pre-season in four or five years and I feel good."
