Former Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini admits he can't understand why Sampdoria striker Antonio Cassano is being snubbed by Italy boss Marcello Lippi.
He told TMW: "It's not the first time a player of extraordinary talent is left on the margins of the national team for various reasons.
"Probably some coaches prefer to sacrifice in some cases the class to maintain balance.
"What is certain is that Cassano is one of the strongest Italian football players, and definitely worth the call. The coach, however, Lippi has absolutely the right to respect his choices because he is the one who decides."
