Former Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini saw his ex-No2 Sinisa Mihajlovic earn a point on his coaching debut in Bologna's 1-1 draw with Roma.

"He has the technical and human qualities to do well in Serie A. We were together for many years, but I think every Coach has his own characteristics," Mancini told Sky Italia.

"He has many qualities and above all knows football very well. He has a great character, is tough and never gives in, so I think he can be of real use to Bologna in their current situation.

"I already supported Bologna before he came along, seeing as I grew up here, so now I have an extra reason.

"I hope he does really well and wish him the best of luck. It is an important opportunity in a big city that deserves to stay in Serie A, so I'd be happy if Sinisa's career started off on the right foot."
