Manchester allows me to focus on my work - Man City's Fernandinho

Fernandinho has spoken of how his move to Manchester City has really allowed him to focus on taking his game to the next level.

The Brazilian midfielder shifted from Ukraine's Shakhtar Donetsk in the summer and admits he is loving his time in Manchester as he strives for trophies at club level and a berth at the 2014 World Cup with his national team.

"I have always been focused, regardless of where I am, and that's very important for a player that likes to win games and titles," he told Globo Esporte.

"Manchester is a very calm city, it allows you to focus on your work.

"My main goal was to return to the national team. I knew that if I shone in a strong league, I could be called up.

"Time was short and the World Cup is just around the corner, but I managed to become a starter, establish myself and gain the affection and respect of fans in an important football country like England.

"Now I want to play the World Cup, play the full five years of my contract in Manchester, a city and club that has received me very well and has allowed me to grow and fight for important titles."
