Nemanja Vidic says Manchester United teammate Cristiano Ronaldo is as intense as ever on the training pitch after his Ballon d'Or success last week.
"Cristiano has had a truly incredible year, scored so many important goals and won two trophies and even for him it's hard to have the same year again," said the defender.
"But he has the confidence in himself he should have - because he is the best player in the world.
"Of course it will get harder now. In every game, especially away, the crowd and the opposition players will try to stop him. He has to deal with that but I know, from working with him every day, that he is strong enough in his head to cope.
"Cristiano has that belief, but it's not only down to that. He has worked to become the player he is.
"Yes, he was blessed with talent and without that he couldn't have achieved what he has. But he is the one who is first out at training and chooses to stay behind and do extra work.
"He always wants to improve. I don't think he's relaxed even one per cent. That says it all. Even though he's the best in the world, he still wants to be better."
