Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic could be caught up in fraud investigation, it has been revealed.
The Daily Mail says prosecutors want fraud charges against a former Yugoslav footballer to be expanded to include the transfer of Serbia central defender Vidic to Russian club Spartak Moscow.
Dragan Dzajic, who has played the most games for Yugoslavia with 85, and two other former Red Star Belgrade officials were arrested in February over the sale of two players to Spanish teams.
That allegedly led to the three men illegally receiving about US$9 million, prosecutors said.
Now, prosecutors are asking for the charges against Dzajic and one of the other two former Red Star officials to be widened to include the sale of Vidic to Spartak Moscow in 2004.
