Man Utd's Tevez explains tongue gesture

He said: "I love it here. Things have been going really well. It is great playing up front with Wayne (Rooney), he is an exceptional player.

"I believe we can achieve great things this season. I know how important the Premier League is to this club but Europe as well."

Tevez also revealed how - like his hero Diego Maradona - he has a strange way of warning an opponent he is about to add to the United pair's goalscoring tally.

The tongue gesture is something he has done since he was a kid slamming goals in his 'potrero', or neighbourhood, football ground.

Tevez said: "It's something I can't stop myself doing. It was the reason all the kids jeered at me when we played at the potrero.

"But the thing is I love scoring goals, the sensation is unparalleled, and I just want to strike it so hard - so hard - that I pull that dumb face. Or maybe I'm just tasting the flavour of the goal which is coming!"
