Man Utd's Simpson recalls his Fergie hairdryer incident

Manchester United fullback Danny Simpson admits he copped the infamous 'hairdryer' from Sir Alex Ferguson after last season's Carling Cup humiliation by Coventry City.

Currently on-loan at Blackburn Rovers, Simpson recalled: "Everyone gets it at some point in their United career.

"I admit it wasn't a good day for me and United. With my family and friends watching, it was my debut and I was devastated. The manager wasn't happy.

"It wasn't a nice feeling coming off the pitch. You then went home and for the rest of the night you were thinking about why you lost.

"But you learn from those kind of games and the mistakes you make. It makes you a better player.

"Hopefully tomorrow we can now get past the third round because I want I want to make up for what happened that night."
