Wayne Rooney would love to lead England at a home World Cup in 2018.
The Manchester United striker, who will be 32 years old when the 2018 World Cup begins, said: "Hopefully I will still be playing then and it would be great to play in my home country. If I'm captain, that would be even better.
"It would be amazing. The last tournament here was Euro 96 and I was only 11 then, a bit too young to appreciate it.
"You see what London 2012 has done for kids getting into sport and I'm sure that the World Cup here would get even more young kids playing the game, which can only be a good thing."
