Manchester United star Wayne Rooney will have to run the gauntlet of thousands of Manchester City fans singing their anthem Blue Moon when he carries Ricky Hatton's belt into the ring at the Thomas and Mack Centre on Saturday.

But Hatton is convinced that Manchester United hero Rooney will relish the occasion because of its drama and his family background in boxing.

"If you're coming over here as a Ricky Hatton fan," Hatton said, "you shouldn't care who's carrying the belt in.

"Some City fans have said 'I can't wait to see that little red s**t's face when he brings the belt out and Blue Moon comes on'. That's the way you should look at it."
