Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney was proud to lead England in yesterday's defeat to Brazil.
Rooney, who was handed the captaincy against Brazil, felt his team could have salvaged a draw on Saturday evening but admitted Brazil were the better team.
Nilmar struck the winner for the Brazilians.
As for being handed the captain's armband, Rooney couldn't hide his pride.
"It was a proud moment for me and my family and I will treasure being captain for rest of my life," said Rooney.
