Man Utd's Manucho impressing everyone at Panathinakos - but must wait

Panathinaikos fans are being forced to wait to see new Manchester United loan signing Manucho in action.

The Angola star is unlikely to face Rangers in the UEFA Cup this week, as a source explained to The Herald: "Jose Peseiro, the Panathinaikos manager, didn't include Manucho in the squad for the league game with Atromitos last weekend although it was postponed in any case due to the heavy snow.

"Peseiro said after the first match with Rangers that Manucho has only a 10% chance of playing in the second leg. I think that now the percentage is only 5%. Peseiro is a coach who wants a new player to fully adapt to his team's requirements before starting him in the first eleven.

"I think that Manucho has a chance to be in the squad but almost no chance of starting the match.

"At Panathinaikos they are really very happy to have Manucho at their club. In his first training session with the team all the players were impressed by him.

In his second session he scored two goals and in the dressing room the defenders said that it is very difficult for someone to tackle him.

"The problem with Pana- thinaikos this year is that the players can't play well against teams with a tight defence. So they wanted a tall, strong player who can make a goal from half a chance and Manucho can do that. It is probably better for Rangers, therefore, that he does not play this week."
