Man Utd's Heinze: Anti-Liverpool clause incredible

Manchester United defender Gaby Heinze intends to appeal the decision that stops him joining Liverpool.

Heinze has refused to give up his battle with United after a two-man Premier League panel rubber-stamped Sir Alex Ferguson's refusal to let him join bitter rivals Liverpool.

The Daily Mail says the stunned Argentina left back will today discuss an appeal with lawyers after being told a disputed letter allowed him to exit Old Trafford across the English Channel but not the forbidden Mersey. It will be next month before any appeal is heard but the Premier League would be prepared to re-open the transfer window after August 31 for Heinze to sign for Liverpool if the verdict is overturned.

Heinze said last night: "My fight is for the freedom to negotiate with any club. United never wanted me to leave for one of the big clubs, but this anti-Liverpool clause is incredible."
