Man Utd's Hargreaves ponders lengthy knee op

Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves is considering knee surgery in the summer.

He has been told the tendinitis condition in his knee can be managed - but that would mean regular periods of rest and the risk of missing out when Sir Alex Ferguson selects his team for the big games.

And that may prompt Hargreaves to go under the knife at the end of the season, says the Sunday Mirror.

The operation does not have a 100 per cent success rate, however, and it could take up to three months to make a full recovery.
