Ryan Giggs says Wayne Rooney did not deserve his red card in Manchester United's defeat at Fulham.

"The first one was a booking, Wayne pulled him (Dacourt) back," said the veteran midfielder.

"But for the second booking, he just wanted to get the game going again. He threw the ball back to where the free-kick was and the referee's opinion is that Wayne threw the ball at him. I think Wayne just wanted to keep the game going because we were losing and the free-kicks and bookings were slowing the game down."
