Manchester United hero Ryan Giggs has revealed how he was rejected by his first junior team.
Speaking with Telegraph TV, Giggs said: "Rejection is part of life.
"I remember when I was 11 years old, playing for my local team Salford Boys and they had an A and a B team; I didn't picked for the A team and had to make do with the B team.
"So I was determined to prove them wrong. I scored six goals and earned my place in the A team."
He adds retrospectively: "I didn't sulk - I just wanted to prove the people who picked the team, wrong.
"And I did that by keeping my focus and eventually I reaped the benefits."
