Manchester United midfielder Darron Gibson will stay on-loan at Wolves to the end of the season.

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy told his club's website: "Sir Alex (Ferguson) has agreed that Darren can stay and we are grateful to Manchester United for that.

"Darron's a good footballer and has done well since he came here.

"The central position is his favoured spot and with Darren Potter and Karl Henry, there will be competition for places."
