Man Utd's Foster set for surprise England recall

Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster is set for a dramatic England recall today.

Foster has played only one game this season, but the decision to allow Manchester City's Joe Hart turnout for the U21s suggests England boss Fabio Capello is ready to go with the United keeper for next week's friendly against France.

Capello publicly bemoaned the fact that he felt forced to select a 37-year-old in David James and the position of goalkeeper clearly concerns him.

But the situation has improved. The highly-rated Foster is back, Chris Kirkland has been outstanding for Wigan and even Paul Robinson has regained his place at Tottenham. As a result, Scott Carson could be one of the casualties before Capello takes his squad to Paris on Tuesday.
