Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher will be available for Scotland's World Cup qualifier against Norway.

There had been criticism of Fletcher for playing in the Community Shield, but he came through 75 minutes unscathed yesterday.

He said: "The Scotland manager asked me about not playing, but I want to feature in as many games as I can for United.

"I have to win a place in the United team as there is a lot of competition. So I don't want to be skipping games. But I was always going to be available for Scotland and I'm feeling good."
