Man Utd's Ferdinand rules out MLS

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has ruled out following David Beckham in making a move to America.

MLS sides are keen to bring in top stars to try and raise the profile of the sport in America with a number of players making the move from England to the USA in the last few months

"He [Beckham] is going out there taking the whole family and he is going to make a real go of it I'm sure and good luck to him and hopefully he does it," Ferdinand told Sky Sports News.

"A lot of players have gone out there and tried it but it never really happened.

"But if anyone can at the moment Becks can I am sure."

When asked if he would ever consider a move to America, Ferdinand was quick to rule out the possibility saying: "No I wouldn't [go to America].

"That is no slight on American soccer just from family [point of view] I would not be able to go that far away from my family.

"I could not see that happening at all, no chance."
