Man Utd's Ferdinand out of Arsenal showdown

Manchester United are set to lose Rio Ferdinand for two weeks.

The Sun says the England defender had a scan yesterday and the good news for boss Alex Ferguson is there is no break. But Ferdinand's foot is still heavily bruised.

He will now be rested for tomorrow's Champions League quarter-final second leg against Roma at Old Trafford and the massive home crunch with Arsenal on Sunday.

The injury could not have come at a worse time as Ferdinand's fellow centre-half Nemanja Vidic is out for another two weeks after hurting his knee in Rome.
