Manchester United must choose wisely Sir Alex Ferguson's successor, says Rio Ferdinand.

Ferdinand said: "I hope the hunger the club has for success doesn't disappear when the current manager has gone.

"You will need someone with a big personality. They are big shoes to fill. There are such big expectations at this club.

"As soon as you walk through the door the winning mentality hits you."
