Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand admits Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe's first minute opener was not a welcome "wake-up call" for his first game back!
"It was a bit of a wake-up call, it hits home the fact you're back playing in the first team again," said Ferdinand.
"But we responded in the right manner, getting the ball down and playing some of our best football this season."
The performance was capped by Wayne Rooney's fifth league goal of the campaign.
"Wayne knows the onus is on him to be one of the people who gets the goals," Ferdinand also told manutd.com. "He seems to have taken that on his shoulders and he's running with it."
