Man Utd's Evra: Scotland have no chance

Manchester United fullback Patrice Evra says Scotland have no chance of beating France this week in their Euro2008 qualifier.

Evra said: "Scotland don't have a chance. Only a miracle will see them defeat France. Everyone remembers our loss in Glasgow but we have moved on. As long as we create chances against Scotland we will win.

"We're not out for revenge - we just want to win. If we play at our normal level we should score a lot of goals.

"If we score a quick opener it should be easy. If we don't, Scotland's defence will be hard to break down because they're not kids.

"In seven matches they have only conceded six goals - the same as Italy.

"Hopefully with Thierry Henry and David Trezeguet up front we are guaranteed goals."

Evra is a fan of Scottish football and watches loads of Rangers and Celtic games on TV.

Old Firm players now make up most of Alex McLeish's national squad and the French full-back claims their European experience will be a huge boost for Scotland.

He said: "Celtic and Rangers have improved in the past few years.

"Many of their players now play for Scotland and have Champions League experience.

"Without doubt the pressure is on France but I'm sure we will handle it."
