Manchester United fullback Patrice Evra has laughed off talk that he is the best left-back in the world.
"I don't know if I am the best left-back in the world," he laughed when asked about a status many believe he now holds.
"Maybe the people saying it are blind."
Evra is a likeable, self-deprecating character.
After every success, and a previous league title and a Carling Cup win can be added to this year's haul, Evra always says he needs to keep winning to prove the last triumph was not a fluke.
Now, the 27-year-old is starting to believe he is the top player everyone else knows him to be.
"I have improved and every day I feel privileged to play for Manchester United," he said. "Now, I feel very confident whenever I go out onto the pitch and I don't worry about other players or teams because I know my own is very strong.
"I don't want people to say my success has been an accident but I also know when I have a bad game, my team-mates will help me.
"When you play for this club, it is easy to be one of the best in your position."
